ANAHEIM’S #1 AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Award-Winning After School Collaboration

The Anaheim Achieves after school collaboration has earned state and national recognition for its outstanding curriculum in academics, enrichment and recreation. Beyond that, Anaheim Achieves promotes community safety, parent involvement, volunteerism and civic pride.

Anaheim Achieves builds upon the school district’s exceptional academic curriculum by providing literacy development, homework assistance, mentoring, enrichment activities (art, music, dance), character development and countless more activities. All sites are open until 6 p.m.

Some benefits students receive include:

  • Homework/study time to help address specific academic needs
  • Structured recreational and enrichment activities
  • Monthly field trips (at no extra cost)
  • Character Development (to learn about honesty, caring, respect and responsibility)
  • Afternoon snacks
  • One-on-one mentors and tutors
  • A variety of clubs, such as cooking, drama, sports, arts & crafts, and cheerleading

Thanks to the Anaheim Achieves after school program, students are taking a greater interest in learning and making smarter life choices after school. They have a safe, positive and enriching place to explore their unique talents and interests and discover their full potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Anaheim Achieves is located on your child’s school campus. The program serves students from Kindergarten – 12th grade and is offered at 36 schools throughout Anaheim (23 elementary, 8 junior high and 5 high schools) in partnership with the Anaheim Elementary, Anaheim Union High School districts, City of Anaheim, California Department of Education and Orange County Department of Education. The program operates from school dismissal to 6:00pm.

PONDEROSA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Anaheim Elementary School District

This program is designed to serve incoming TK through 6th-grade students in a safe and positive expanded learning school environment.  The program is designed to accommodate students that are doing distance learning on campus. The program is designed to include academics, performing arts, STEAM, enrichment, and good character trait components for all children, as well as to serve the parents and community as a resource. The program is open during After-School Dismissal to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

AESD AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

JUNIOR HIGH & HIGH SCHOOL

Grades: 7-12

Anaheim Union High School District – Junior High

The program serves students from 7th to 8th grade and is offered in partnership with the Anaheim Union High School District. M-F from 2:30 – 6:00

When: M-F  3:17 p.m. – 6:17 p.m.

AFTER SCHOOL CURRICULUM DESIGNED FOR SUCCESS

ACADEMICS: S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), reading and writing

ENRICHMENT: Art, drama, dance, leadership clubs, sports, cooking and more

RECREATION: Team sports, fitness, health, and nutrition

CHARACTER: Honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility

Priority enrollment will be given to homeless youth (McKinney Vento) and foster youth. Second priority will be given to youth who attend the program daily.

Annual program evaluation results are available upon request.
