Anaheim, CA – The Anaheim Family YMCA Board of Directors has elected Michael Johnson to become the next Chair of the YMCA Board. Michael will serve a two-year term leading the Board of Directors from 2023-2025.
He currently serves as the Market Manager, Government Relations for Republic Services leading efforts in community engagement and neighborhood investment. Republic Services is a national leader and the largest environmental services company in Orange County.
Before joining Republic Services, Johnson worked in public affairs where he executed successful programs for a range of government clients, elected officials, and corporations in the technology, land use, and energy sectors. Johnson also worked for the County of Orange as a Chief of Staff and Manager for many years and has strong working relationships with entities across Southern California.
Michael’s greatest professional joy comes from his charitable service with local non-profits. He believes there is no greater feeling than to support the Y’s mission to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors.
