Dear Anaheim Family YMCA Community,
As we move into April, we reflect on a month full of milestones and accomplishments that wouldn’t have been possible without you. Together, we continue to strengthen our community. We are the Y.
March was National Nutrition Month, a time to focus on the importance of healthy eating and informed food choices. At the Anaheim Family YMCA, we proudly supported this effort through our Y Nourish program, which serves students in the Anaheim Elementary School District, AUHSD and other youth-focused locations. In 2024 alone, we distributed over 600,000 meals to children in need, ensuring that healthy food reaches those who need it most.
We also welcomed Claire Padmore-Clarke from PepsiCo and Carmen Koo from Applied Air Conditioning Corporation to our Board of Directors. Their expertise will help propel us forward in our mission.
In partnership with the Los Angeles Clippers, we are excited to announce that the Jr. Clippers YMCA Basketball League will offer kids the opportunity to play the game the Y invented in 1891.
Thanks to the Angels Baseball Foundation, we also received a generous $25,000 donation to support youth development. With this support, no child will be turned away due to financial need.
Of course, one of the most memorable highlights of March was our 6th Annual YMCA Gala. What a night! Thanks to the incredible generosity of this community, we raised $327,528 to continue creating life-changing opportunities. We want to congratulate our auction winners and extend our heartfelt thanks to Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva for being our honoree and inspiring us all with her dedication to our cause.
Lastly, March was Women’s History Month—a time to honor the women who have shaped history and continue to inspire today. We are proud to work alongside the phenomenal women of the Anaheim Family YMCA. Their leadership, passion, and dedication make a profound impact on our work and the communities we serve.
Thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we are making a difference.
With gratitude,
Brent Finlay
